Have you ever looked up at the moon and wondered what it would be like to visit?

Today, we're going to take a pretend trip to the moon and see what it's like!

The first thing you would notice is that the gravity is different.

The gravity on the moon It's only 1/6th of the Earth's gravity,

so you would feel like you could jump really high!

You would also need to be careful not to float away because there is no atmosphere on the moon.

That means that there is no air, so you would need to wear a space suit everywhere you went.

The next thing you would notice is that it's always nighttime!

The day on the moon lasts for 29.5 Earth days, so half of that time it is light and half of that time it is dark.

That might sound weird, but it actually would give you a lot of time to sleep!

The surface of the moon is covered in craters from all of the meteorites that have hit it over the years.

And because there isn't any air on the moon, those craters are actually really big!

Taking a trip to the moon might sound like a lot of fun, but there are some things that you would have to get used to first.

The different gravity and lack of air can take some getting used to, but exploration is always exciting!
